“…..RANOL Clock Company (Chicago) vintage neon clock. I purchased this clock from the clean-up crew of a vacating storefront in the late 1960s. Was displayed in the show window of a small shop located on Lake Street, just west of State (don’t remember how far west on Lake) but still under the Elevated tracks. Estimated vintage is late 1930s or early 1940s based upon the numeral style but my source isn’t an expert nor certain of his assessment; surely the clock seems to be more than 50-years old.
Neon tube lights-up pink. Decorative bezel has some corrosion on the front, lower right, and there are some old plating stains on the side-mounting around the attachment hardware.
Time-set key really looks art-deco-y and the on-off neon-lighting switch seems really old and clunky too and both work well. Weighs ~25-pounds. ….”
