This is an exceptionally fine and heavy ( 1 lb. 3.3 oz. on our postal scale, including mirror and fill) Art Deco dresser set, with great attention to detail. It is hand and machine engraved with curved bevelled edges and corners to handle and body of both mirror and brush. Both have unmonogrammed oval cartouches.

The bevelled mirror is firmly set in a curved sterling bezel. It is clear and unblemished. The bristles of the brush are set into white celluloid over wood and are clean and intact. To the back of the mirror is stamped “BIRKS STERLING”.

Birks is Canada’s Tiffany’s, with top of the line jewelry, crystal and other top quality items. Founded in 1879, it continues to be frequented by royalty and heads of state, attracted by its international cachet. Birks remains a Canadian icon.

The mirror is 12″ X 4 ¾”; the brush 10 ½” X 2 ¾”+. The set is in very good antique condition, commensurate with age and use. Any dark or light spots in the photos not mentioned above are reflections in photography.

If mirror, etc. were removed, we estimate the net sterling weight at something like 11 oz. We would like to see this go as a valued heritage piece, although we will to adjust our sterling prices in accordance with the price of silver.
